CICS -
From the Beginning
The Chinese-Italian Cultural Society is a distinguished Hong Kong-registered charity founded as The Marco Polo Society in 2009 by Dr. the Hon. Sir David Li. As Founder and Chairman, he successfully led the Society in developing important cultural connections for over a decade.
Now as CICS and under the chairmanship of Ms. Michelle Ong, the Society unites influential leaders from both Italy’s and Hong Kong’s business, arts and philanthropic communities in support of building cultural bridges. CICS is committed to advancing a profound appreciation of Italian culture and to forging new and continuing connections between Italy and China.

Our Mission

Each year, CICS continues its mission, turning cultural appreciation into a powerful connection that draws China and Italy closer in friendship.
From hosting landmark exhibitions and pioneering scholarly dialogues to exploring the beauty of Italian journeys and timeless heritage, CICS promotes connection, discovery, cultural understanding and enjoyment of all things Italian.
